Engagement pictures

Casey and I were lucky enough to get my friend (and now MY photographer) Rachel DeVault to take our engagement pictures. Here are a few. Yes, lots of kissing ones. And yes, we're very much in love!

Bells are ringing....

Wedding bells that is! That is right, I am getting married!!!!

I have met THE ONE, unexpectedly found Mr. RIGHT, and I have said yes.

Casey and I

Now the race is on for an August 1st wedding and I am so excited I can't sleep.

I met Casey through what I consider a series of special events, somehow feels like
someone higher up was arranging it! We went on our first date and have been
inseparable since then except for the forced physical separation because we
live far away. For now....

How can I describe it? We both say we have found "home" in each other, our souls
fit together like a puzzle, and we compliment the other I'd dare say perfectly.

What is Casey like, you ask? First of all, just look at him!!!!
He's adorable, my tall,
dark and handsome. He is also kind,
gentle, considerate, smart,
spiritual, a leader, selfless, respecful,
an AMAZING father.

And those are just a few of the traits. He is most
definitely my Mr. Right.

I am so thrilled to have found true love. And not only do
I get Casey, but also his beautiful children
Austin, Taylor, Braden and Chloe,
and his loving parents and family.

So yeah, I am way behind in my postings, but now you know why, I've been busy
falling head over heels for the Love of my Life.

Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies.

New project? Maybe.... perhaps....

I need another project like a hole in the head right now, but I was visiting Kristen's blog today (she always has great sewing and photography on there, plus lots more) and saw this:

Like I said before, I need a new project so badly at the moment (NOT!). What with smocking Mercedes' dress, our vaycay to Cali, two jobs, and school out I have extra time coming out of my ears, right?! But I've always wanted to quilt and the reason I don't is ADDICTION.

That's right, I know I will never stop if I start. And frankly, I'm not sure I could afford the level of fabric addiction I forsee. But hey, I will consider this, mule it over, look at fabric, and perhaps..... maybe.... possibly.... make my first quilt.

New little something

The last 9 plus months have been rough and an adjustment to say the least. I have felt myself go way out there, where I've never been before. But the good news is that I feel myself coming back, slowly but surely. Learning to move on post divorce has been a challenge, it has taken all my emotional and mental resources but I have grown in ways I never imagined and feel like when I am a long way down this road I will look back and see growth that I can only be grateful for. Sewing has been such a creative outlet throughout the last few years for me, but it was something I had to put in the back burner as I faced the most difficult months of this transition. In fact, I have pretty much turned the burner off all together! But as I stabilize my life I'm feeling the creative spark come alive and I am thrilled. I went in a little quilt shop in town for the first time in months and my brain was churning, my ears buzzing and I was happy! Ah! Behold, the power of fabric! ha ha.

So here is my latest creation, something totally new for me. The pattern is Feliz, created by my friend Nancy of studioTantrum. Such a versatile pattern, I cannot wait to play around with it some more. Next on my list is Mercedes' white baptism dress, most likely her last smocked dress from mom, so I'm going all out. Will keep you posted.

Happenings and my 50th post!

50 posts!! Wow! I never thought I'd last at this blogging thing, but although I've slowed down a bit I'm still going strong. We have had a few fun events in the last weeks and I wanted to show and tell.

First I have to say (AGAIN!) how proud I am of the work Mercedes and Michael have done at school this year. Despite the rough times they have gone thru they have both excelled and are great kids and hard workers..... at least at school :) We had end of school programs that were so cute! Mercedes class had fun songs to share with us, Michael's kindergarten class was just darling. Here are some photos:

We also just went to West Jordan to visit David's family and be there for the blessing of my new niece Mylee. It was so great to be there as a family and realize what I wonderful support we are to one another.
